The story behind the piece
A piece of Scottish character, made to be worn well and kept for years.
Few sights say Scotland like a Highland cow, all fringe and horns, standing in the rain at the side of a glen road. This throw brings them indoors. The cattle were drawn by hand, then woven in cream into a rust-coloured ground that matches their coats. Fold it over the arm of a sofa, lay it across the foot of a bed, or post it to someone abroad with Scottish roots who misses the view.
Each design in the Nature range starts as a hand-drawn illustration of Scottish wildlife. It is then woven into the cloth on a jacquard loom rather than printed on top, so the picture won't crack or peel. The throw is woven in Scotland by The Isle Mill from 100% merino lambswool, which is soft enough to wrap up in and warm without weight. It measures 140 × 180cm, including 10cm purled fringes.
