Product Description
Gentlemen’s Trews with an Argyll waistband. With two side pockets and optional hip pockets, these beautiful trews give you an alternative to wearing the kilt to formal events, dinners and weddings.
Designed to be worn high on the waist, the deep Argyll waistband allows a kilt belt to be worn. Half-lined, they are made from 10oz, 100% pure new wool tartan cloth, sourced from a traditional Scottish mill. Or, for a heavier trew, choose the 13oz Scottish or Irish tartans.
Irish Tartans
The trews are also available in a great selection of Irish tartans too, both in a regular and heavy styles. Note that the special weave Irish tartans carry a premium as a minimum weave is required for this cloth. Please contact us if you any questions about this variation.
Delivery
Delivery time for made-to-measure trews is 5-6 weeks. However, if you need them in a hurry, please let us know that you need our fastrack option and we will do our best to meet your dates.
Measurements guide
Waist: Remember that these trews are high-waisted and are worn around your waist, not, as with most trousers nowadays, around your hips. Pass the tape over your belly-button, or find the top of your hip bone and pass the tape approximately 1″ (2.5cm) above it. The tape should be comfortably tight.
Hips or seat: measure around your seat ensuring the tape passes around the largest part of the buttocks.
Inside Leg: measure from the top of the inner trouser seam (where the two seams meet) down to the top of the heel (where the heel meets the sole of the shoe). Alternatively, as a rough guide you can calculate your inside leg measurement by subtracting 11″ (28cm) from the outside leg measurement.
Outside Leg: Measure the outside leg from from 1″ (2.5cm) above the hip bone down to the top of the heel (where the heel meets the sole of your shoe).
