Irish Tartan Kilt

You’re Irish. Or your family’s Irish. Or you’re descendants from Irish stock. Whatever – you want an Irish tartan kilt, not a Scots one.

Well, now you can choose from any of tartan designed for the old, traditional counties in Ireland plus one for the the four provinces and the Irish national tartan.

And new to our range of Irish tartans are Irish name tartans, like Murphy or O’Shaughnessy. Specially woven, these are tartans available for the first time, meaning that if your name is Irish, then there might very well be a tartan for you too.

Our kilts made from Irish tartans are the same construction as our traditional Scottish kilts. They’re made from lightweight 10/11oz fabric, mediumweight 13oz tartan fabric and heavyweight 16oz fabric and each kilt uses at least 8 yards of cloth. The 11oz and 16oz fabrics are more expensive as these tartans are woven to order.

Delivery is normally 5-6 weeks from order, but if you are in a hurry please enquire about our fast track service. For an additional ‘fast-track’ charge of £50, we should be able to achieve almost any date for you. Note fast-track is only for making the kilt and not the fabric. Specially woven fabric like the 11oz or 16oz fabric will take between 4-8 weeks to weave.

Take Your Measurements

Don’t panic – measuring could not be simpler. First, get a tape measure and an assistant to help you. Empty your pockets of everything.

• 1. Waist: Stand straight and ask your assistant to run the tape measure around your waist at your belly button. The tape should be comfortably tight.
• 2. Seat / Hips: Take a measurement around the fullest part of your hips.
• 3. Kilt Length: Kneel on the floor and make sure you are upright, ask your assistant to measure from your tummy button to the floor.
